The collaboration between Dipharma and the Italian Chemical Society (Società Chimica Italiana – SCI) is enriched with a new appointment.

Dipharma is pleased to be one of the sponsors of the event “Young people and chemistry in Friuli Venezia Giulia*” that is taking place today, September 27, at University of Udine (Italy).

The event is organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Section of the Italian Chemical Society, in collaboration with the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Trieste and the Department of Agrofood, Environmental and Animal Sciences of the University of Udine.
It involves companies located in the region, such as Dipharma Francis S.r.l, and comprises presentations given by young chemists illustrating their research work to the audience composed not only of academics but also undergraduate and secondary school students.

This morning Dipharma is giving its contribution with the presentation of our colleague Simone Saponaro, R&D Researcher, entitled: “Grignard’s reaction: from the Laboratory to the Industrial Plant“.
Grignard chemistry is well-known, highly versatile and economically practicable but hazardous and insidious, especially upon scale-up. A solid understanding of the underlying chemistry is necessary when handling this type of reactions on an industrial scale. Simone’s presentation focuses on Dipharma’s know-how and long-standing experience, based on scientific knowledge, necessary to ensure quality of the product, reliability of results and above all process safety during the industrialization of an API.
