The collaboration between Dipharma and the Italian Chemical Society (Società Chimica Italiana – SCI) is enriched with a new appointment.

Dipharma is pleased to be one of the sponsors of the eventYoung people and chemistry in Friuli Venezia Giulia” that is taking place today, October 8, at the University of Trieste (Italy).

The event is organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Section of the Italian Chemical Society, in collaboration with the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Trieste and the Department of Agrofood, Environmental and Animal Sciences of the University of Udine.
It involves companies located in the region, such as Dipharma Francis S.r.l, and comprises presentations given by young chemists illustrating their research work to the audience composed not only of academics but also undergraduate and secondary school students.

This morning Dipharma is giving its contribution with the presentation of our colleague Chiara Roncali Polo, R&D Analyst, entitled: “Candesartan Cilexetil: a journey through synthesis, impurities, and pharmaceutical quality”.
Impurities are a key concern in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Identifying and controlling them is essential to ensure product safety, especially for critical impurities like nitrosamines. This presentation explores the production of Candesartan Cilexetil, focusing on impurity risk assessment during synthesis, their investigation and identification, and the subsequent strategies to reduce their formation.

Furthermore, Giovanni Adriano Bassan, a PhD student in Chemistry (39th cycle), co-funded by Dipharma and the University of Trieste (Italy), under the supervision of Professor Stephanie Federico, will present his work entitled: “Development of a New Industrial Synthesis for a Class of Dual NK1/NK3 Receptor Antagonists”.
